I started acting in grade school to try something new. I had switched schools in 4th grade and enjoyed being part of a variety show, so in 5th grade the school music teacher suggested I try out for the school play.  I asked my parents and they said if I wanted to try it that I should go for it. I got the lead as Dorothy in a version of the Wizard of Oz, and I was HOOKED!  After, I did school and community theater for years, some projects were recorded for cable television, but I didn’t work on an actual film until 2003.  Then, my job assisted with holding a reception for the Bare Bones Independent Film Festival, my first introduction to indie film.  I attended some screenings and fell in love with the projects and the filmmakers’ passion for their projects.  After, I got a small role in a feature film, they discovered I could really act so I got more roles and loved every minute, so I attended acting workshops to better my craft for film, enjoyed more and more cool roles… and my saga continues.
As for actors I watch,  I enjoy actors that provide “real” performances, whose expressions, tone, and reactions draw me into their character so well that I forget I’m watching a fictional film.  I want to provide that same experience on screen.  My favorite actors are Denzel Washington, Anthony Hopkins, Kevin Spacey, Will Smith, Keanu Reeves, and I have just one favorite actress, Michelle Stafford.
My favorite time on set was filming for the Quad-X Saga — two mockumentary features by Twitchy Dolphin Flix.  The script hilarious yet intriguing, the crew ontop of their game, the cast prepared with exceptional characters, and everyone had so much fun with it.  And a lot was accomplished in a short amount of time since both features were filmed at once.  I love the whole film process, from the script, to filming, post, and then festivals, and everything about the Quad-X experience was and continues to be exceptionally positive.
I love being part of the Twitchy family.  I love the quality and depth of the scripts written, the professionalism in the process, the treasured friendships that have been built, the overwhelming positive support for each other as creative artists is priceless, and seeing each of the final versions of their films on the big screen has been a very uplifting experience.  I’d love to be part of whatever projects Twitchy ever lets me be involved in!
